Business Development Manager- East

The Business Development Manager (BDM) East will be responsible for Business Development and Channel Management in the assigned region withing the Americas, and has an intimate knowledge and understanding of the CEDIA Channel and the local High End Residential (HER) Market.

 

The BDM wins, maintains, and expands relationships with HER channel partners, representing Barco Residential’s complete range of products and services. The BDM’s most important means of interacting with partners, customers and prospects is through face-to-face meetings. The BDM is responsible for achieving sales, profitability, and partner recruitment objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Sell through partner organizations to end users in coordination with partner sales resources.

  • Develop new markets and new business opportunities.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the market (professional associations, other manufacturers).

  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned partner accounts.

  • Proactively assess, clarifies, and validates partner needs on an ongoing basis.

  • Proactively lead a joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship.

  • Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet partner performance objectives and partners’ expectations.

  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned partner accounts.

  • Manage potential channel conflict with other firm sales channels by fostering excellent communication internally and externally, and through strict adherence to channel rules of engagement.

  • Lead solution development efforts that best address end-user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company and partner personnel.

  • Ensure partner compliance with partner agreements.

  • Drive adoption of company programs among assigned partners.

  • Proactively recruits new qualifying partners.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Creative and result-oriented Team Player with established interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and are able to formulate clear objectives and effectively utilize existing resources to achieve deadlines. 
  • Team-player with a passion for excellence, and a pro-active, dedicated and fast learner.
  • Thrives on fast-paced, dynamic environments and relish the opportunity to be part of a new team building a new business.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in senior sales, business development or channel management positions for technology companies, ideally in the high end residential space withing the CEDIA channel.
  • Strong customer focus and strong technical skills.
  • Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent English Language Skills. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese is a strong asset.
  • Willing to travel 50% of the time.
