Business Development Manager Learning Experience DACH
Function
The mission of the Sales & Business Development Manager is to develop the high-end virtual learning market for higher education and corporate learning and development in DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
We are seeking an experienced hunter with a proven track record to join our sales team. You are representing Barco at Learning Departments at Corporates and at Universities, Business Schools/Executive Education.
The position reports to the Global VP Sales Learning Experience and is based in one of the metropolitan areas in Germany.
Key Responsibilities
- You implement, cultivate and maintain strong relationships within the sales channel consisting of system integrators, local partners and end-users to maximize Barco’s reach and presence on the market with collaborative educational products;
- You develop and maintain the ideal sales channels in the region and assure continuous business growth, by actively targeting learning departments at corporates and large educational institutes (Business Schools/Executive Education);
- You build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing deals for the corporate and education markets;
- You assist and participate in trade shows and events within the region and follow-up leads;
- You provide regular forecasting, market intelligence and competitive analysis.
We are looking for a new colleague who
- Has a degree in economics or engineering, or equivalent by experience;
- Has proven sales experience to key accounts as well as a partner-based business approach;
- Is a hunter: contacting prospects in order to turn them into customers;
- Understands Solution and Value Selling, “Selling to the customer ‘needs”;
- A good understanding of selling services and cloud-based SaaS platforms/ solutions;
- Is a high-level sales negotiator with outstanding relationship building abilities;
- Previous experience in collaborative learning products/network would be an asset;
- Shows successful practice in developing sales strategies, building and managing funnel and business plans;
- Has a good technical understanding or technical background;
- Shows ability to perform in a complex matrix organization and in an international environment;
- Is highly self-motivated and is a real team player;
- Is willing to travel internationally, depending on the various types of business developed in the region;
- Has a self-assured and outgoing personality with the ability and adaptability to work practical, reliable and flexible without the need for on-going instructions;
- Is a strong and assured communicator and presenter, who can gain personal credibility with client managers;
- Can adopt a disciplined and organized approach regarding travel, CRM, pipeline and lead management;
- Language skills: German (mother tongue), English (fluent).
