Data Architect

Key responsibilities


  • You will lead the data strategy, modelling and conceptualization:
    • Create/communicate enterprise data strategy & roadmap
    • Continuously evaluate and improve current data systems
    • Design future and long term data strategy
    • Drive Data solution designs and advise domain architects, BI and development teams
    • Thought leadership on data technology framework
  • You will drive data Governance together with our Master Data team
    • Define Data Information Standards
    • Define Data Information Policies
    • Define Data Rules
    • (Meta) Data Vocabulary
  • You will align with our BI & analysis team on reporting technologies
  • As a member of the Barco Architect team, you will drive consistency and efficiency in the long term data architecture




  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering and at least five years of experience in a data analysis position.
  • You use logical and analytical thinking to come up with creative and innovative database solutions.
  • You also demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
    • Data analytics – you are an expert in everything data related. You know exactly how data is collected, analyzed, and delivered.  You are familiar with both the technical and user-facing sides of databases
    • Scripting languages – you are familiar with scripting languages such as SQL, PHP, C,...
    • Project management – you are an experienced project manager who knows how to meet deadlines and create efficient solutions that involve multiple teams (cf. in the context of new database implementations)
    • Attention to detail –  you pay meticulous attention to details and have a deep understanding of how even the smallest details fit into the big picture
    • Critical thinking – you tackle problems by first evaluating them and thinking of several different potential solutions. You use critical thinking skills to deliver the most efficient solution based on database structure and requirements
    •  Change management skills - you are able to align stakelholders from different viewpoints and to drive standards
  • You are fluent in English and like working in a truly international environment.
