Purpose of the Job
As the Product Manager for Barco Residential, you will oversee the product lines within the residential portfolio and help define the strategic direction of the business. You will be responsible for the positioning of our Barco Residential solutions, with a focus on outbound messaging, promotion, and product-related tools. In close collaboration with the product management teams, you will capture the voice of the customer and translate it into a solution strategy and product roadmap that drives growth in this premium market.

 

As Product Manager, you have end-to-end responsibility for the customer journey & commercial success of your product(s) throughout their full lifecycle. You will define innovations that align with segment value propositions and are based on a deep understanding of customer needs. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you will ensure both revenue growth and customer satisfaction goals are met. You will understand and balance the contributions of hardware, software, and overall user experience to the Barco Residential portfolio, enhancing the home entertainment experience for end users.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy:

  • Define, document, and communicate the roadmap and product strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Develop business cases and define business models, leading Business Case Reviews in coordination with Segment Marketing.
  • Create winning product requirements based on market needs, technical insights, market trends, and customer personas.
  • Focus on the customer experience, ensuring differentiation through a deep understanding of customer needs and best-in-class user experience principles. Act as the advocate for the customer and end-user internally and externally.
  • Conduct market, customer, and internal research to gather insights, supported by visits to both customers and non-customers.
  • Design pricing models/architecture in collaboration with Segment Marketing to optimize market positioning.

Execution:

  • Lead the integration and collaboration with a wide variety of functional areas, including segment marketing, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and operations to define product requirements, address customer needs, and identify market opportunities.
  • Ensure effective product development progress, prioritize features, manage roadblocks, and lead beta customers in coordination with the Product Owner.
  • Lead the user experience (UX) efforts for your product in cooperation with UX teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing on new product launches, ensuring world-class product management across the customer journey.
  • Deliver internal and partner enablement through training, tools, and demos.
  • Manage the product lifecycle, taking responsibility for the end-to-end management of your product.
  • Measure the customer experience through data-driven methods to prioritize enhancements and address critical product issues.
  • Propose and implement lifecycle initiatives that support product and service growth.
  • Stay current on the product and market landscape, positioning yourself as an expert.

Profile

Experience:

  • Minimum BSc in engineering; any Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years in product management and lifecycle management. Understanding of projection or led technologies is a plus
  • Proven track record in product-driven organizations, working at the intersection of hardware, software, and customer experience.
  • Experience managing a global product portfolio.
  • Leadership skills with potential for people management in future roles.
  • Technical proficiency in related industries or technologies.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations.

Skills:

  • Strong customer-centric mindset, with a passion for understanding and addressing customer needs.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into product specifications, validate these with target user groups, and communicate them to R&D.
  • Understanding of interaction design, prototyping, and user validation for delivering superior user experiences.
  • Capable of conducting market, competitor, and customer research to assess market opportunities.
  • Ability to work with product development and engineering teams to drive product delivery, with strong prioritization and communication skills.
  • Effective team player, capable of working cross-functionally and fostering collaboration.
  • Comfortable presenting to audiences, engaging with stakeholders, and generating new ideas.
  • Proficient in expressing ideas visually through sketches and wireframes to support design teams.
