Senior Software Development Engineer

Product and Responsibilities
xSpace is a new Barco product easing the daily work of a control room operator by integrating use cases of a display wall and uses case of an operator workplace into one product. It is a distributed system based on Linux which provides freely configurable workplaces and display walls integrating all kind of application and video sources along with a highly efficient UI allowing fast interaction in mission critical environments. Each display wall and workplace can be composed of multiple hardware clients and has a multi-server backend. xSpace offers various application and video sources, which can be customized, shared between users and concurrently used in all display walls and workplaces. To further increase functionality of xSpace, Barco is looking for a Senior Software Developer.

Your responsibility is to develop and maintain backend services using latest technologies. Since the result of your work is part of a bigger ecosystem, you need to collaborate with other teams and integrate work results.
 

Function
You will be part of an agile R&D team working in a modern environment on the development of software products for video wall applications and operator workplaces used in critical infrastructure. Your team is distributed with a home base in Kortrijk. You will have close relations to the development site in Noida/India and Karlsruhe/Germany. 

As part of this agile scrum team, you will develop simple and timely solutions to complex problems, maintaining Barco's market leadership in video wall solutions. We welcome you to a software organization that focuses on ownership and team responsibility.
  
Qualifications

• Master degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline
• Experience with OO analysis
• Have experience in at least two of the following domains
  • Python (as back-end)
  • Linux (Debian)
  • Bash scripting
  • Docker
  • NGNIX
  • KeyCloak
  • MongoDB
• Experience in RESTful API backend implementations
• Able to work in a multicultural hybrid environment
• Good communications skills
• Fluent in English
