Key responsibilities come with a specific job description, but here are some common roles and responsibilities typically found withing the role of a dedicated software test engineer within Barco:

Key responsibilities

 

  • You plan, design, implement, run test cases (manual and/or automated). You analyse and report test results, find current gaps in test coverage and prepare test scenarios.
  • In case of any issue found, you report and track defects and inconsistencies to development teams and follow them up closely.
  • You define and run system tests within a complex system setting (software, local devices and cloud components) 
  • You recommend new test methodologies and tools to continuously improve our test activities. 
  • You collaborate closely with other team members and departments.


Qualifications
 

  • A degree in Computer Science would be nice, but experience rules. Tell us what you've got.
  • You are familiar with the complete test development life cycle of products and solutions. Being familiar with ISTQB standards is a plus.
  • You have a feel for programming and scripting in python or bash, or you know programming languages such as Java, C#, C or C++. Experience in working in a Linux environment is considered a plus.
  • You like to analyze problems and are capable to identify gaps in the existing test approach
  • You work accurately with attention to detail.
  • You have good organizational and time-management skills.
  • You have good communication and teamwork skills and like to collaborate with different disciplines and departments
