Senior HW Engineer

Barco Healthcare is world leader in medical visualization and is growing rapidly, therefore we’re seeking to increase our HW electronics team at Barco Kortrijk. At Barco, we design, develop, and manufacture all our Healthcare products in house, so you will be able to follow your brainchild all the way from idea to qualification, production and beyond. The ideal resource is a Hardware Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics and several years of experience in this role.



  • Interpret the requirements and verify the product is fully compliant​
  • Work out electronical solutions and implement them yourself and/or together with your colleagues​
  • High-speed CPU & FPGA digital design, test and verification
  • Debug on system integration problems that arise during development by measuring and monitoring on the electronical solutions from Barco and customer systems​
  • Preparation and maintenance of the technical product documentation
  • Specify test cases to verify the implementation against the specifications​


Required competencies :

  • Bachelor or master degree, combined with relevant work experience in hardware electronics development​
  • Has at least 3-5 years of experience in electronics hardware​
  • Experience with EDA tools; knowledge of Mentor Xpedition Designer would be a plus, but experience with other EDA tools will also be sufficient.
  • Good knowledge of EMC, Power and signal integrity and basic HW design and simulation tools
  • Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player but also able to work independently
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and a good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of video interfaces like DisplayPort and HDMI is a plus
  • Experience with image & video processing is a plus
  • Knowledge of VHDL design and implementation is a plus
