Function

 

As Procurement Executive, you analyse and prepare all sourcing and supply chain activities for a designated commodity category, which a.o. entail search and selection, reduction of supply risk, contracting, management of supply sources in order to maximize performance with minimum total cost of ownership. You enable early supplier involvement by working closely together with all internal stakeholders, such as R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management, NPI (New Product Introduction) etc.

 

Key Responsibilities

  

  • You build and maintain the sourcing commodity strategy in line with the global procurement strategy;
  • You perform all sourcing actions for a your commodity category with excellent knowledge on product, supply market, its players and contracting techniques;
  • You investigate, select and develop sources of supplies in order to minimize supply risk and total cost of ownership, issue bid requests and review quotations;
  • You negotiate contracts between Barco and supplier in order to maximize value for Barco (price, flexibility, risk, product advantage, etc.);
  • You ensure optimal management of supply sources with minimum total landed cost;
  • You are responsible for supplier KPI performance management;
  • You take full ownership (on all levels and subjects) of the relationship between Barco and the supplier, establishing also strategic partnerships and alliances;
  • You assist the Logistic Buyers in the operational purchasing activities in case of repetitive default and/or deviations from contract;
  • You engage a close co-operation with R&D and Product Management and ensure availability of supplier technology roadmaps for key product groups;
  • You offer support to New Product Introduction projects and projects defined in the procurement plan agreed between the divisions and global procurement. 

 

Your profile

  

  • You have a Master’s degree in engineering science, or equal by experience;
  • You have relevant experience in engineering in a design environment and/or in strategic purchasing;
  • You have experience with managing/working with Chinese companies;
  • You have knowledge of purchasing principles and practices; 
  • You have knowledge of IT market dynamics and technologies;
  • You have social relation skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
  • You are strong in stakeholder management;
  • You have a business development/entrepreneurial skills and mind set;
  • You are communicative, a strong negotiator and result oriented;
  • You demonstrate initiative and organisational awareness;
  • You are analytical, accurate and deliver high quality work.
