To strengthen our R&D team, we are looking for an Audio Software Engineer.



As our Audio Software Engineer, you help improving the audio experience in our ClickShare portfolio. These are Barco's wireless next generation collaboration & presentation tools for the meeting room that will be used by thousands of customers worldwide.


Key Responsibilities

As our Audio Software Engineer you will:

  • take ownership of the audio pipeline in our products and guard its integrity
  • help in creating robust media platforms that form the core of the next generation of wireless presentation products
  • take full responsibility from product specification, internal software architecture, automated testing up to a releasable feature
  • deliver a quality product in time while following coding standards
  • collaborate with the testers to identify open issues, keep track of bugs and fix open issues
  • provide proficient documentation for the developed software modules
  • implement functionalities following an agile development methodology (SCRUM) 
  • work with geographically distributed teams (Europe, India, Taiwan)
We are looking for a new employee who...

As a prerequisite to become our Audio Software Engineer you: 
  • hold a master degree in a software development related study
  • have at least 5 years’ experience with designing and developing applications for embedded devices
  • knowledge of ALSA, pulseaudio or GStreamer is a must
  • have experience in developing C/C++ applications for media handling at senior level
  • have at least additional experience in some of the following domains: 
    • network communication and media streaming
    • audio codecs (OPUS, VORBIS, …)
    • audio transcoding
    • audio synchronization
    • audio latency, jitter and buffer management
  • have strong development, debugging, and testing skills
  • are a critical thinker and possess problem solving skills
  • are a self-motivated and result oriented, autonomous worker and have strong communication skills
  • are fully conversational in English
