You will be part of the Legal, Risk & Compliance department, with operations in Belgium, US, China and Taiwan, and you will be working out of the company’s headquarters in Kortrijk.
Key Responsibilities
  • You will take care of the day-to-day commercial contract review process, primarily in the EMEA region.
  • You will assist internal customers with the review of a broad variety of contracts, ranging from NDA’s, sales, purchase, IP licensing, joint development agreements, and M&A agreements (redlining contract drafts, participation in conference calls, etc.).
  • You will pro-actively contain the risks which the company is exposed to, and handle litigious matters in a smart but cost-efficient way.
  • You will work on cross-border transactions and handle specific projects to further improve and optimize the team’s services to its internal customers.
  • You will have frequent international contacts with colleagues in other functions like sales, service, purchase, marketing, R&D, commercial partners, in-house counsels and attorneys, and will take part in business discussions and commercial negotiations, sometimes also abroad.



We are looking for a new colleague who
  • Is an EU qualified lawyer, with a LLM obtained in a common law jurisdiction, ideally the US;
  • Approximately has five years of experience in an international environment, consisting of a mix of bar and in-house practice, ideally with a software or technology company;
  • Has knowledge of corporate, commercial, IP/ICT and competition law. A strong software contract background is considered a plus;
  • Has solid experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating typical Anglo-Saxon contracts;
  • Is a mature, dedicated and stress resistant professional, a team player with a real roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, strong communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.
  • Shows the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Is able to identify and resolve complex problems in a decisive manner, to use intuition and common sense to escalate relevant issues and propose pragmatic solutions in a concise manner.
  • Has a strong command of English, both oral (active participation in meetings and conference calls) and written (reviewing and redlining contracts).  Any additional language skills (Dutch, French, Spanish, German, …) is a plus.
  • Has a good knowledge of MS Office (Word, powerpoint, …).
