Department Overview

The Export Coordinator will be part of Barco Inc.'s Logistics Department, a fast-paced and collaborative team based in Duluth, GA. This department oversees the compliant movement of goods across international borders, working closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate shipments. The role supports key functions such as documentation, routing, and regulatory adherence.

 

This is a temp role for 3 months. 

 

Key responsibilities

The Export Coordinator plays a key role in supporting international shipping operations by ensuring timely and compliant export of goods. This position is responsible for monitoring export documentation, coordinating with freight forwarders and customs brokers, and maintaining accurate records to support smooth global trade operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of landing.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant shipments.
  • Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any transportation issues.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including export control laws and customs requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all export transactions and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Communicate with internal departments (sales, customer service, warehouse) to align shipping schedules and customer requirements.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies or delays in shipping and customs clearance.
  • Support the Export Specialist in process improvement initiatives and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or export coordination (internships or co-op experience acceptable).
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, international shipping documentation, and customs procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of trade compliance regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR).
  • Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
