Bright sparks urged to apply.

Barco’s Immersive Experience division is growing rapidly, and we are looking for talented women and men to join our Electronics (Hardware) Product Development team in Barco Fredrikstad.

In this role, you will be part of a truly multi-disciplinary engineering team developing the next generation of visualization products. That means you will throw ideas, brainstorm, puzzle, and prototype with some of the brightest electronics, FPGA, EMC, software, thermal, optical, and mechanical engineers in Norway.

And it doesn’t stop there. At Barco, we design, develop, qualify, and manufacture all our Immersive Experience (IX) products in-house. This means that you will be able to follow your brainchild throughout the whole process: concept development, schematics, layout, prototyping, verification, EMC validation, industrialization, and production release.

What you will do

  • Carry out system studies and prepare electronics system architecture

  • Translate product requirements into tangible electronics system designs

  • High-speed CPU & FPGA digital design, test, and verification

  • Prototype building, bring-up, measurements and validation

  • Work with our EMC engineer to establish and safeguard EMC compliance of the product

  • Collaborate with members of the NPI (New Product Introduction) team to develop, test, troubleshoot and finetune product designs for manufacturing, test and production

You need to bring

  • Solid working experience in product development and design principles and practices

  • Hands-on experience with high-speed electronics design principles and tools

  • Experience with EDA tools; we use Mentor Xpedition Designer, but we know there are a lot of other programs out there

  • MSc or BSc relevant to electronics/hardware development

  • Knowledge of software environments like C++, Python or Linux is a plus but not a must

... bring ideas, pursue them with care, and make sure they work in real life. You are curious and passionate about technology. You are a problem-solver by nature, and take pride in your excellent analytical and design skills and advanced troubleshooting skills. You communicate and collaborate with ease in large, multidisciplinary teams.

Life at Barco

... will offer you all the technical challenges you want. You will work with brilliant people. And play. It will be challenging, developing, and rewarding. And a lot of fun.
