Business Domain Architect Manufacturing and Planning

As one of our Business Domain Architects within the IT department, you are the bridge between IT and the business stakeholders. You define and guard the overall functional and application architecture on all applications and solutions in the domain of Manufacturing. Your overall goal is to ensure the systems and distributed solutions in your domain and deliver optimal value for these business groups and Barco as a whole.


Your key responsibilities 


  • You capture the business demands and requirements in the domain of manufacturing. 
  • You translate the business requirements into solutions keeping the balance between architectural fit, long term viability and the possibility to stick to standard processes. 
  • You assist business stakeholders in defining functional business cases for new projects and business solutions, translate business requirements into specifications for customization or development, and in specific cases do customizing himself/herself or assist/guide the Functional Analysts and follow-up external experts to do so 
  • You support the delivery of projects, releases and changes throughout the delivery of the various demands to make sure the business demands are delivered conform with the original approved business requirements. 
  • You strive for best business practices. 
  • As part of the team of the IT architecture board, you contribute to make sure that all solutions are consistent and aligned across all relevant business domains.  

Qualifications & Skills 


  • You hold a master's degree in computer science, applied economics and/or (civil) engineering, informatics or equivalent combination of education and working experience. 
  • You have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in process management or architecture in Manufacturing. You have a deep understanding of business processes in this area. 
  • You bring knowledge in SAP on several of the following processes: production planning, manufacturing execution, material Management, Experience in SAP BW and other data warehousing concepts is also considered an asset. Expertise in SAP APO DP is a nice plus. 
  • You are able and willing to work across technologies where needed, keeping a holistic view on the overall system. 
  • You have excellent analytical skills and are able to communicate your analysis in a clear & concise way to your key stakeholders. 
  • You have the necessary influencing & cooperative skills to get things done. 
  • You have good organizing skills which enable you to manage different tasks & projects simultaneously.
