Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end software architecture of a cloud product within the Barco Control Rooms portfolio.
- Stay hands-on with technology through experiments, proofs of concept, prototypes, technical validations, and code reviews.
- Evaluate the opportunities and limitations of AI-assisted and AI-enabled systems and guide the secure, scalable, and customer-focused integration of AI capabilities into the product architecture.
- Stay up to date with latest technology in the domain of control rooms and advise product management and product owners on best technical roadmap strategies to follow
- Foster a culture where people think system-wide across software components and development locations.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
- Proven experience designing and evolving cloud-native software architectures operating at scale.
- Hands-on mindset with a strong interest in proofs of concept, experiments, prototypes, and technical validations.
- Broad software engineering expertise, including experience with serverless technologies, event-driven architectures, microservices, APIs, and cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, including scalability, reliability, observability, security, and cost optimization.
- Solid knowledge of security fundamentals, identity and access management, data protection, and secure software development practices in cloud environments.
- Understanding of modern AI and machine learning concepts, including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, model evaluation, and AI governance.
- Strong learning mindset with a keen interest in emerging cloud and AI technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate architectural vision, trade-offs, risks, and concepts across different organizational levels, including executive management.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and the Google AI ecosystem (Vertex AI, Gemini, AI Platform, etc.) is an asset.
- Experience in international development environments is an asset.
- Experience working in large-scale agile environments (SAFe, LeSS, multiple Scrum teams, multiple Product Owners, etc.) is an asset.
