Components Engineer
Function
You would be accountable for the global technical coordination of off-the-shelf purchased components, the management of the component teams and the technical relationship with component manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
- You gather the R&D needs as input for the component management strategy
- You maintains & define technical characteristics summary by component or component groups
- You follow up and process discontinuation & change notifications by proposing alternatives when available, to avoid major supply problems due to unexpected product discontinuations
- You execute the component management strategy by component group for Barco R&D worldwide
- You lead the component teams, support the cost & value engineers and Procurement team towards cost effective products
- You introduce new technologies, trends, and new components to our R&D community worldwide
Qualifications
- Ideally you have 3 years of Component engineering experience in a design environment or equivalent. Experiences or eagerness in design Engineering is a plus, but we are also open for young graduates!
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering science, or equal by experience
- You are a service-oriented team player
- You can work independently
- You are fluent in English
- You are meticulous, analysis minded, result driven, customer oriented, innovative, enthusiastic and proactive
- You can build and maintain relations and you are skilled in communication
