Embedded Software Engineer

We create new high tech projectors to entertain audiences in visual experiences they will never forget. The markets in which our technologies are used range from live events, over theme parks and museums to flight simulators. Our R&D organisation focusses on developing projection and image processing technologies to make these immersive experiences come to life for our customers all over the world.




Barco IX is looking for a software engineer to reinforce our fast growing team to work on the next generation of projection solutions.
You will be part of an international team based in Belgium and Norway.
The software you develop will enable our projectors to do their magic. Your code will make it all happen: from inspiring people at the Gent Light Festival to training the pilot who is bringing you to your holiday destination.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Be responsible for the development of software to support projectors in different markets (Events, ProAV, Rental, Simulation, High End Residential, Virtual & Augmented Reality , …)
  • Develop embedded software using modern C++
  • Participate in the Agile way of working
  • Get the opportunity to work with geographically distributed teams

Your profile: 


  • You hold a bachelor or master degree in software development
  • You like learning new things
  • You are familiar with a Linux environment
  • You have software development knowledge in C++
  • Experience with the GNU toolchain is a plus
  • Experience with GIT is a plus
  • Experience with Python is a plus
  • You have a preference for object oriented development
