Join Barco's Surgical Modality business unit as a Software Engineer and become a key contributor to Nexxis, our cutting-edge flagship product revolutionizing surgical environments worldwide.
In this role, you will work together with the rest of our team to develop new features and design modern web interfaces which delight our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop modern, responsive web interfaces
- Test and validate the designs of you and others to guarantee quality
- Collaborate to refine customers requirements and bring your own innovative ideas to the team
- Write and maintain documentation when relevant
- Share your knowledge and expertise to empower your team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in modern web development, with an understanding of responsive UI design
- A good understanding of the basic tools of web development: HTML, (S)CSS, Javascript
- Experience with Vue.js
- Experience with Cypres or equivalent testing frameworks
- Experience with Git or equivalent source control systems
- A basic understanding of back-end development or a willingness to learn
Competencies:
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Knowledge of English for day-to-day and technical for verbal and written communication
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- A basic understanding of modern CI/CD processes
- Open to learning and developing new skills
Bonus points:
- Relevant domain knowledge about the medical sector, video streaming, displays,...
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience with writing back-ends using Kotlin, Java using the Spring framework
- Experience with Jenkins/Github Actions
- Experience with the Jest test framework
