ICT Service Engineer

Our IT department is looking for an ICT Service Engineer who provides first line support to internal customers and in some areas also is responsible for in-depth second line support service.  We ideally look for someone with a specific expertise or interest in cyber security.

Next to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will also be involved in more structural projects within the IT organization.



Key Responsibilities


  • You are responsible for providing first line support and in this context you register and validate incidents 
  • You investigate problems in search for the root cause and the solution(s)
  • You follow-up on incidents and service level agreements, escalating incidents if needed
  • You are responsible for monitoring and evaluating the availability, capacity and performance of the systems and applications 
  • You are responsible for providing second line support with an expertise in the domain of ICT security; assuring business continuity by supporting, deploying and maintaining PC’s, back office applications, business applications and related IT systems. You execute testing, small subprojects related to the module(s) within the area of responsibility on demand of the delivery organisation.
  • You are part of the stand-by team (evenings/weekends) for critical support areas 
  • You are alert for and aware of non-optimal business or system processes, lack of integration and sub-optimization: you identify and expose them, you create awareness and inform concerned departments or users and you provide improvement suggestions to the systems- and application responsible 
  • You support in executing the system-, application- and integration tests 
  • You support projects, migrations and releases during the deployment phase working together with a system engineer, functional analyst & technical designer 
  • You are responsible for and monitor the network, desktop environment, servers, security components, directory services, applications … and create and maintain the operations procedures 
  • You support the ICT service manager in creating the IT continuity plan 



Your Profile


  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in IT, ideally combined with a first relevant work experience - however, motivated graduates are also welcome to apply!
  • You are eager to work in a WinTel environment and with Microsoft applications 
  • You are service & customer minded - you like interacting daily with Barco colleagues from all over the organization and offering them the very best support possible
  • You are proactive, can work autonomously and have good problem solving skills 
  • You are a fluent communicator
  • You are willing to join the standby team (1 week stand-by every 4 to 5 weeks)
