Hardware Engineer
Barco Healthcare’s R&D team is looking for a hardware engineer to support the introduction of new products in the surgical modality market. As a hardware engineer you will be part of a large international R&D team and you will be involved in the development of customized visualization solutions for medical devices. You will get in touch with a variety of new technologies and contribute to the future of healthcare. We are looking for self-directed, collaborative, and flexible candidates.
Responsibility
In this job you will:
- Develop and maintain electronic circuit boards for medical displays, including video and audio processing, and power electronics.
- Select and validate electronic components and power conversion solutions.
- Build, debug and measure prototype boards.
- Define and execute tests for verification and validation of the design.
- Prepare the technical documentation of the design.
- Work closely together with the project team and contribute to the overall succes of the project.
- Promote and develop new ideas and concepts, methodologies for optimization and evolution of the company products and services.
Skills and experience
- Master degree in electronics or similar by experience.
- Good knowledge of CAE programs for schematic entries (Mentor Graphics preferred).
- Excellent electronic debugging capabilities and problem solving.
- Use of electronic measurement equipment.
- Good knowledge of EMC, Power and Signal Integrity and HW design and simulation tools.
- Knowledge of interfaces such as PWM, I2C, SPI, RS232, USB.
- Digital video interfaces (DisplayPort, HDMI, SDI), and USB, Ethernet.
- Agile development, using Kanban or Scrum.
- Problem solver, taking intiative, taking responsibility.
- Good communication skills in English.
