Setting the scene


You will be part of a team of legal, compliance & risk professionals with colleagues in Belgium, the US, China and Taiwan, and will have daily contacts with colleagues worldwide working in general management (finance, HR, IT), sales, R&D, supply chain and other functions.



Key responsibilities

Coordination of contract management:

  • Review, prepare and finalize standard documents such as NDA’s, data processing agreements, powers of attorney, etc.
  • Coordinating the proper execution and electronic filing of contracts
  • Managing the Contract Management Module, the Barco wide contract repository.  You will monitor its use, take care of the access control, prepare frequent management reports on contract data and work with internal stakeholders to identify and implement a suitable successor. 
  • Support to the members of the legal team in drafting, editing and finalizing a wide variety of legal documents, updating and maintaining contract templates. 


Support of the company wide compliance management system:

  •  Implementing compliance related policies, guidelines and the updates thereof;
  •  Managing and regularly updating the IT tool used to report and archive compliance cases;
  •  Ensuring the liaison with, and preparing the yearly ‘risk and compliance gap analysis’ interviews with the legal & compliance responsibles for the subsidiaries across the globe;
  •  Organizing trainings and awareness campaigns, preparing reports on the status of the compliance management system, assistance with drafting the annual report;
  •  Managing the worldwide export control management system, handling legal blocks in the SAP-GTS system, preparing end-user statements, customer’s questionnaires, etc.


Support of the risk and insurance management system:

  • Administrative management of the worldwide insurance program, electronic filing of global and local insurance policies, liaising with insurance brokers, processing of insurance certificates, handling insurance claims.




  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in business management, specialisation legal practice
  • A first work experience, ideally gained at the legal department of an international company.
  • You are acquainted with basic contract, insurance or regulatory principles.
  • You are well acquainted with the standard MS Office packages such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and ideally also Sharepoint as well as SAP ERP-system. 
  • You have an excellent command of Dutch and English, both oral and written. Additional language skills will definitely be a plus. 
  • Finally, you have good communication skills, and are a pro-active, solution-oriented and resilient team-player with a can-do mentality and a good sense of humor.
