The function 

As Product Manager Software and Connectivity for Barco Cinema, you have the End-to-End responsibility for the software products serving our cinema exhibitors globally and the connectivity options designed to collect data, maintain our products and assist with problem solving when needed.  Ranging from projector control software, over API definition to cloud-based health and monitoring tools, Barco cinema is enabling customers around the globe to install, operate, manage and maintain their projector fleet and its adjacent parts inside a cinema booth.

You define product & services innovations based on a deep understanding of the customer needs.  Through close interaction with the operational teams of the customers and the R&D teams inside Barco cinema you will look into how new software solutions can be applied to our business:  AI, IOT, Cloud are only a few tracks to explore in the role.

You align with key stakeholders to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.  THrough the development of business cases we will drive revenue based out of software products and enable new services through the use of connectivity solutions managed by you.
 
You are a member of the global Product team of the Cinema BU and reports to the Product lead of the Cinema BU.

You work together with your peer product managers inside the product team.
 

Key responsibilities
 

1. Product Strategy and Roadmap Development:

• Conduct market research, customer interviews, and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and opportunities.
• Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Barco Cinema software products and connectivity solutions..
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align product objectives with business goals.

2. Product Development and Launch:

• Lead the product development process from ideation to launch, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Work closely with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to translate customer requirements into product specifications.
• Drive product innovation, leveraging emerging technologies and industry standards.
• Define and execute go-to-market plans, including pricing, positioning, and messaging strategies.

3. Product Lifecycle Management:

• Monitor product performance and market trends to identify opportunities for product enhancements and updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and implement product improvements based on customer feedback and market demands.
• Develop and execute product end-of-life plans, including obsolescence management and transition strategies.

4. Customer Engagement and Market Support:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and gathering insights.
• Support the sales and marketing teams by providing product training, sales tools, and technical documentation.
• Participate in industry conferences, tradeshows, and customer visits to showcase Barco cinema's software products and connectivity solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, engineering, or related discipline). A master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably in the software products.
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies and roadmaps.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 25%) to customer sites, conferences, and Barco offices worldwide.
