Senior User Experience Designer

Barco designs technology that makes everyday life a little better. We are currently looking for an experienced UX Designer who takes ownership for the design of the end-to-end user experience of Barco solutions, with a specific focus on our Meeting Experience portfolio (Clickshare). 




As our Senior UX Designer, you skillfully combine research and design skills, and you are very interested in human behavior and interaction. You are a person who questions everything!
You have the experience to drive design thinking workshops with the team and customers to grasp user needs, derive insights, ideas and concepts.  
You will be part of a team shaping the user experience for product solutions across Barco and will report to the Global Experts Director within our Software R&D organization.
You work with visual designers and the development team to safeguard the essence of your design.
We look for someone open-minded, who is passionate about exploring trends and sharing knowledge about new things in the field of design with the team.   
Your ultimate goal is to transform the user experience from ‘good’ to ‘great’.


Key Responsibilities

  • You understand product specifications and user psychology;
  • You build empathy for the customers and engage with business to research user needs;
  • You come up with innovative approaches to solve user needs and improve usability;
  • You own the user experience vision and philosophy, and safeguard consistency in the broader context;
  • You conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback;
  • You mentor and nurture a world class, geographically dispersed product design team to implement attractive designs;
  • You communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers;
  • You keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends.

We are looking for a new colleague who

  • Has a proven track record in user centric design, systemic design, user research, user flows, wireframes, usability and design thinking;
  • Shows aptitude for convincing others (internally and externally) of the value of your ideas;
  • Has excellent communication and presentation skills in English;
  • Has good sketch skills and graphical insights;
  • Has knowledge of the appropriate UX tools, Sketch, Invision, XD, Adobe Suite, …;
  • Is flexible to travel (whenever it’s again allowed/possible).
