Barco CTRL test environment

All flavors of the Barco CTRL system are developed and automatically tested in our lab. Some setups allow direct interaction to experience and experiment with Barco CTRL. Most setups, however, are in a controlled environment within server racks, accessible and controllable over the network. They house interchangeable CTRL systems used for both development and automated testing. 

Request

We are looking for TWO enthusiastic STUDENTS to help us expand our server room racks, both adding more setups and adding additional devices to each setup, taking great care to document and label all changes to keep our overview up to date. Additionally, inventorize and reorganize the stock we currently have at our development facility. 

Technologies: server rack management, network configuration, Python, Netbox, Raritan 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Plan: Plan the expansion of our test and development infrastructure, making sure that we have enough space, hardware, and the correct network capacity. 

  • Implement: Execute the plan, building, configuring, and expanding our new test setups. 

  • Validate: Validate that the setups are functional and changes are compatible with our test suite. 

  • Document: Label each device, update or add their location in our Netbox tracking system and update the description of our test setups where necessary. When indexing and organizing stock, keep a ledger of the available stock and each item’s location. 

Qualifications

  • (Pursuing) A degree in system and network management or a related field. 

  • Affinity with electronics and hardware. 

  • Strong interest in Linux and network configurations 

  • Independant (as a two-man team) 

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. 

  • Bonus: Fluent in English
