Within our Business Unit Cinema we bring the experience of Movie Goers to the next level. We develop world leading laser based projectors, including state of the art media servers.

Product development is thriving in Barco, so we are looking to expand our team in Liège with a Front-end Web developer.

We are looking for a self-driven and skilled Front-End Web Developer to take ownership of our web application built with Angular and Angular Material. As the primary front-end specialist in the team, you’ll play a critical role in the visual and performance of our application.

The ideal candidate is not only technically capable, but also curious, autonomous, and eager to learn. You should have a good understanding of web development best practices and design patterns, and be comfortable navigating complex systems to gain a holistic view of the application.

Your responsibilities:

• Own and lead the development of the front-end web application using Angular and Angular Material for the next generation of projectors and media servers in the Cinema Market.
• You work closely with backend developers (C++) and have experience with JSON-RPC over raw TCP
• You deliver high-quality software to ensure responsiveness, performance and scalability accross different devices and screen sizes.
• You are familiar and apply best practices and design patterns in front-end architecture.
• You are proactive in understanding the entire system and proposing improvements or innovative solutions.
• You write clean, maintainable and testable code.
• You stay up-to-date with industry trends and technonlogies.
• You are part of the R&D team in Liège and work closely together with our software development teams in Kortrijk, Belgium, in Erfurt, Germany and Noida, India.

Your profile:

• Strong experience with Angular and Angular Material
• Solid knowledge in front-end design patterns, architecture and state management.
• Deep understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with responsive design and performance optimization
• Experience with raw TCP communication and JSON-RPC
• Ability to work autonomously, manage your workload, and make wised decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• You are used to work in a Linux environment.
• You use Object-oriented thinking/development.
• You are used to work in agile.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with primarily C++ developers
• Experience with real-time systems
• Experience with progressive enhancement and cross-browser compatibility
• Contributions to open-source or personal projects.
