Sr. Android System Software Engineer

We seek an adept software engineer to enrich our R&D team, focusing on crafting top-tier wireless collaboration solutions for meeting rooms with an agile approach. You will collaborate with Scrum teams within Barco's agile engineering framework to elevate product experiences. We desire a seasoned software engineer who is sincerely dedicated to learning and software development. Our target talent is an Android System Software Engineer. Proficiency in core embedded architecture and development (including drivers, encoding, decoding, image processing, and device management) is essential. Additionally, your drive to achieve Sprint Goals extends to broader ecosystem aspects such as applications and framework integration, particularly emphasizing security.

Key Responsibilities

• You will play a pivotal role in translating user stories into practical implementations that align with the overall software architecture.
• You develop and optimize Android systems by proficiently using C++, Kotlin, and Java.
• You deliver high-quality code, including documentation and unit testing.
• You make informed technological choices balancing speed to market and high quality.
• You define integration approaches towards 3rd party components.
• You will contribute to embedded software development for products in the ClickShare portfolio.

Qualifications

• You have at least 5 years of proven software development experience in Android.
• Android development skills:
  • Proficiency in Android development with Java/Kotlin.
  • Experience with system level development (framework/HAL) on Android platform (knowledge of MDEP is a plus).
• You are familiar with these domains/tools:
  • Python, C++, Qt
  • Networking, security, video/audio processing, codecs, OpenGL, Android media framework
  • CI/CD, Jenkins, TDD, automation
• You have the ability to work independently in a global organization with tight deadlines.
• You are proficient in written and verbal communication in both English and Mandarin.
• You have the experience in scaled Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
