Product Owner

Purpose of the Role

The Product Owner supports the delivery of product value by working closely with stakeholders and development teams within the broader Program Team.

As part of this team, the Product Owner ensures that product requirements are clearly defined, understood, and ready for execution. Given the highly technical nature of the product, this role requires strong technical acumen to effectively collaborate with engineering teams and understand complex system behavior. The role focuses on clarifying requirements, supporting delivery, and enabling effective collaboration within Agile teams.


Key Responsibilities

Backlog Refinement & Delivery Support

  • Contribute to refining and preparing backlog items for development within the Program Team.
  • Translate business requirements into clear user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure backlog items are well understood, actionable, and ready for implementation by the development team.
  • Provide day-to-day clarification on requirements during development.

Agile Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with development and design teams to ensure smooth delivery of product increments.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the team for requirement-related questions.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Leverage technical understanding to facilitate discussions and ensure alignment on solutions.
  • Help identify and remove functional blockers impacting delivery.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements.
  • Ensure alignment between stakeholder expectations and delivered functionality.
  • Support communication on progress, scope clarifications, and functional decisions.

Product Quality & Validation

  • Validate delivered features against acceptance criteria.
  • Support functional testing and ensure deliverables meet business expectations.
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies and work with the team to resolve them.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to improving backlog refinement processes and team ways of working.
  • Actively participate in the Program Team to strengthen collaboration and delivery effectiveness across roles.

Requirements

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in an Agile environment.
  • Experience working closely with software development teams in a technical environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with tools such Atlassian toolchain etc.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Skills

  • Strong ability to translate business needs into clear functional requirements.
  • Solid technical acumen with the ability to understand complex systems, APIs, data flows, or architectures.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge business and technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and structured way of working.
  • Problem-solving mindset with analytical thinking.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a highly technical or platform-based product environment.
  • Understanding of software architecture concepts and integration patterns.
  • Background in business analysis or functional analysis.
  • Previous hands-on technical experience (not required).

  • Development teams have minimal ambiguity and can deliver efficiently.
  • Strong alignment between stakeholder expectations and delivered features.
  • High-quality product increments that meet acceptance criteria.

Working Environment

  • You will be part of a collaborative Program Team that collectively drives product delivery and success.
  • You will work within a cross-functional Agile team consisting of engineers, designers, and stakeholders.
  • The environment emphasizes teamwork, shared ownership, and continuous improvement to deliver value effectively.
  • The job requires you to be three days in the office per week
