Purpose of the job:

This position is to analyze and prepare all sourcing and supply chain activities for a designated commodity area (Panel, LCM), which a.o. entail search and selection, reduction of supply risk, contracting, management of supply sources in order to maximize performance with minimum total cost of ownership. Enabling early supplier involvement by working closely together with all stakeholders.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain sourcing commodity strategy in line with the global procurement strategy.
  • Perform all sourcing actions with excellent knowledge on product, supply market, its players and contracting techniques. 
  • Investigate, select, develop and optimally manage sources of supplies in order to minimize supply risk and total cost of ownership. Familiar with issuing bid requests and reviewing quotations.
  • Full ownership (on all levels and subjects) of the relationship between Barco and the supplier. Supplier KPI performance management.
  • Negotiate contracts between Barco and suppliers in order to maximize value for Barco (price, flexibility, risk, product advantage, etc.)
  • Engage a close co-operation with R&D and Product mgt and ensure availability of supplier technology roadmaps for key product groups.
  • Assist the Logistic Buyers in the operational purchasing activities in case of repetitive default and/or deviations from contract.  

 

Education:

  • Bachelor degree or above, prefer optical background. 

 

Experience:

  • More than 5 years of procurement/sourcing experience in the area of LCM

 

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of purchasing.
  • Social relation skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and to connect well as a team player. Able to build a strategic partnership with internal customers through excellent customer focus.
  • Good in English, excellent communication skills, and experience in influencing others with well thought out recommendations.
  • Strong negotiator and result oriented.
  • Full of initiative and organizational awareness.
  • Analytical, accurate and high quality work.
  • Able to set priorities, excellent organizing, planning and problem solving skills.
  • Possess strong listening and negotiating qualities to anticipate and resolve hurdles.
  • Possess conflict management skills to handle people matters.
  • Come with creative solutions. Open for learning new things. 
  • Able to travel.
  • Worked for international company, familiar with cooperation with stakeholders from different countries (cultures), is a plus.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
