Business Development Manager - Digital Pathology & Surgical Visualization (CEE-SEE Region)

Barco's Healthcare division is expanding across Central and Eastern Europe, with a key focus on pathology, surgical visualization, and integrated workflow solutions for operating rooms and endoscopy suites. We're seeking a Business Development Manager to drive market penetration across Eastern Europe, strengthen partner networks, and accelerate direct end-user sales in high-growth segments like digital pathology and surgical displays.

 

Required Competencies

 

  • Achieve individual sales targets for Barco healthcare products, with emphasis on pathology and surgical visualization solutions.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new resellers/distributors across CEE-SEE; serve as single point of contact, develop business plans with performance targets, and conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Activate existing partners per target plan; collaborate with Barco Account Managers to own partner support and commercial opportunities.
  • Provide technical/sales expertise for accurate product specification, demos, and pathology workflow integrations.
  • Deliver proactive product training on pathology, SRQA, and surgical visualization solutions to channel partners.
  • Generate leads via trade shows, hospital demos, and end-user engagements with surgical departments and pathology labs.
  • Manage lead distribution to partners while pursuing direct opportunities with key accounts.
  • Promote Barco brand for positive regional visibility; build end-user pull among clinicians and C-suite decision-makers.
  • Follow up on Business Development leads; analyze customer needs and deliver compelling pathology/surgical value propositions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records for all sales opportunities.
  • Provide consolidated monthly sales forecasts aligned with Barco's financial methodology.
  • Monitor pathology/surgical market trends and share actionable intelligence with Sales Management.

 

Required Education, Experience & Competencies

 

  • Education
    Bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Healthcare, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience
    5–7+ years proven sales experience in healthcare technologies (pathology, surgical imaging, endoscopy, diagnostic imaging preferred).
  • Language Knowledge
    Fluent professional English required; Eastern European languages (Polish, Hungarian, etc.) a strong plus.
  • Interpersonal Skills
    Exceptional communication/presentation skills; ability to build credibility with clinicians, pathologists, surgeons, and hospital executives.
  • Result Orientation
    Proven hunter mindset for new business; strong negotiation skills; passion for penetrating new hospital accounts across large geography.
  • Travel
    Significant travel across CEE-SEE region for customer engagements, partner visits, and trade shows (based from Warsaw office).
