The job holder manages Barco Wuxi plant whom has the end responsibility for the performance of plant in terms of making the output at the required quality, cost and delivery performance as requested by the business divisions, whilst ensuring all aspects of safety and environment. Organizes, coordinates, controls and steers all related manufacturing processes and departments. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • To support the sales process by delivering goods on time, with agreed quantities within the given quality and cost objectives. 
  • To organize or coordinate multiple operational functions like: Production, Production Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain covering warehousing & planning, etc.
  • To support both global & local R&D activities by allocating resources to the different NPI/development projects.
  • To manage all operational resources, costs and investments.
  • To define and implement the optimal organization which is the best fit to support the organization targets.
  • To set targets for the organization on the different key elements: output, quality, cost, cycle time, due date performance, new product introduction.
  • To install business systems and processes and by continuously challenging these processes in order to further improve the performance of the production unit/plant.
  • To provide input to the senior management on the current operational performance through the reporting of a balanced set of key performance indicators, as well as the strategic decisions & proposals, including not limited to the production location, manufacturing or in/out sourcing related aspects.
  • To prepare and coach people for the current and future needs.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Operation Director.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor in Engineering (min 4 years) or equivalent.


Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5 years hands on experiences in production management or similar, 3+ years people management experience.
  • Sufficient knowledge & expertise to supervise the automated production line and maintenance.
  • SAP and ASRS knowhow in terms of operation excellence.
  • High mix low volume manufacturing experiences, preferably in projection/display or electronic product industry.
