As our Segment Marketeer Construction at Barco you are responsible for a true outside-in segment strategy, value proposition & enablement.


You are the expert in your segment and are responsible for selling and implementing this winning business strategy. Therefor you work in close cooperation with different internal stakeholders. You will become the bridge between Marketing, Sales & Business Development and the customer. You don’t think product but buyer: you understand the market segment, the buyers & their needs. You focus on costumer demands and regional market trends so you can identify their needs and come with winning strategies to fulfill them.

Key responsibilities
  • You will build a profound understanding of the Constructive segment. You map the overall trends, the eco-system, market size & segmentation. You make a blueprint of the different customers, prospect and buyer types where you map their journey, needs and the competitors.
  • You use the gathered information to define the overall segment strategy and create a differentiating segment portfolio with valued propositions across hardware, software and services.
  • In close collaboration with the sales leaders, you determine and manage the routes-to-market strategy and channel price setting. You give clear recommendations to product management for end-user pricing.
  • You identify the key target audience for the value propositions based upon data-driven customer segmentation. You document the market requirements to ensure the strongest competitive advantage.
  • You collaborate closely with the product managers to translate the value propositions into a winning product portfolio and concrete product & services development.
  • You will support different marketing stakeholders in building targeted and strong marketing campaigns, events & conferences and will be a sparring partner of customers and sales teams on your segment’s strategy, products and services.
  • As this is a new segment that needs to be put on the market, you will be travelling +- 50% of your time. 


  • You hold a bachelor or master’s degree and has a minimum of 5 years upstream marketing and/or strategy experience.
  • You have experience in defining market strategies, creating value propositions and go-to-market approaches and this in an organization with complex value chains with different influencers.
  • You have working experience and/or connections in the construction market.
  • You are fluent in English, both verbal and written. You have excellent presentation skills.
  • You are a fast thinker with solid strategic insights, are customer - & market oriented and has strong marketing skills.
  • You are familiar working in a matrix organization and are a teamplayer as you will be working with stakeholders from across the company.
  • You are pragmatic, energetic, a self-starting leader and highly motivated achiever
