We are currently hiring for a Business Development Manager to join our sales team within our Enterprise division.  This position will focus on Education markets as well Corporate Training.  For this position we prefer candidates that reside in the North Eastern United States.


As Business Development Manager, Education, your mission is two-fold:  (1) to drive new business opportunities in the Education and Corporate training market by mapping relationships and partnerships while coordinating opportunities through certified channels and (2) to create new business development opportunities in the Education and Corporate training Markets based in a defined territory.  You will report to the Enterprise Director of Education Sales and work closely with the channel team and business development teams on the development and implementation of key initiatives that support our strategic goals in the education and corporate training segments.

Key Responsibilities

Work with existing and new channel partners and Barco channel and business development teams to position all Barco products and services to meet individual, divisional and corporate goals and objectives

  • Target un-tapped Education and Corporate Training Markets where focus will be on high priority accounts to develop relationships at key levels within current and potential customers
  • Demonstrate high level of knowledge & experience working with Barco’s channel strategy
  • Work closely with the Barco Enterprise Team in our overall strategy
  • Developing new business leads/opportunities
  • Build new partnerships generating additional (net new) business
  • Assist in defining selling strategies for assigned customers
  • Work closely with all parties providing input, to ensure that all Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Contract requests are handled efficiently
  • Provides input to the team to enable the generation of standardized processes and pricing to streamline response to customer’s expressed needs 
  • Evaluates progress towards new business development and  revenue goals
  • Be able to represent and present for the company at any and all professional meetings and trade shows
  • Handles customer inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external customers
  • Maintains the highest professional, ethical and moral position with each and every customer
  • Performs other duties as needed

We are looking for a Barco employee who:

Has these Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in complex selling environment of end-users, distributors, large contractors, consultants, ecosystem partners and resellers
  • Excellent poise and presentation skills
  • Experience with higher education and corporate training environments
  • Experience with Business Development in education and/or corporate training environments
  • Effective interaction with employees, customers and colleagues
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks / projects
  • Superb understanding of Barco and its products and services and able to communicate core competencies to the customer
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills
  • PC proficient
  • Proficient in most common software applications
  • Leadership and management skills
  • AV/IT experience
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Sciences (BS) or equivalent certification/experience required
  • 5+  years marketing/sales strategy development and implementation and direct sales experience
