Product Owner Embedded Software – Immersive eXperiences

The function

 

Barco is looking for a Product Owner Embedded Software for the Immersive Experiences Business unit.

 

Do you have a love for software and continuous improvement but also affinity with hardware, software planning, release management and are a good organizer and communicator?

 

Then this broad role is for you!

 

The content of the development work goes from projector features, over hardware bring-up, to security. You will have plenty of stakeholders: developers, testers and product managers; but also resource managers, project managers, industrialization and automation engineers.

 

You will be located in Kortrijk, Belgium and interface with an international group of developers based in Belgium, Norway, China and India.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

Backlog management

  • Create, prioritize, maintain and communicate the product backlog with the proper level of detail, based on input from different stakeholders
  • Organize functional refinement and technical feasibility sessions with the necessary stakeholders
  • Create and guard the definition of ready and definition of done for backlog items.

 

Software planning, project and release management

  • Hold sprint planning, standups, sprint review and retrospective
  • Create and own a staged SW development and release plan for long-term hardware projects
  • Increase predictability of software deliverables through various flow metrics
  • Lead the software delivery towards the release together with the dev and test teams
  • Communicate clearly and proactively about risks, progress and impact of decisions regarding trade-offs

 

 

 Your profile

  • You hold a higher technical degree combined with several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in a product-driven organization on the intersection of hardware & software deliverables.
  • You have a strong technical skillset or know-how of a similar industry or technology.
  • You are a team player and you have the ability to coordinate with product development, engineering and other areas throughout the organization. You are confident in prioritization and are a clear communicator.
  • You are enthusiastic about your product, good at interacting with people and you are open and curious for new ideas.
  • You can conceptualize and express ideas effectively to support the engineering teams in defining products.
