Production Engineer

Currently the Barco Operations team in Kortrijk is looking for a (Junior) Optical Engineer to strengthen and support our production quality and engineering team. 
 

Your main tasks as optical engineer will be:

• Work in an inter-disciplinary and multi site team (R&D, production engineering, production, quality)
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations of projection systems.
• Assist the operations team(s) and optical team(s) in addressing (potential) issues and mitigate risks.
• Drive root cause analyses and propose corrective actions for production issues.
• Monitor and analyse optical production data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Understand and drive the design and test methodologies of optical systems.
• Define the test equipment for new projector designs, if required (design reviews, inputs towards design rules, etc).
• Provide thorough documentation of work performed.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in Optics, Physics or a related engineering field or equivalent job experience.
• A strong hands-on mentality combined with analytical skills
• Experience in evaluation and the design process of optical systems is a plus (Zemax).
• (Proven) ability to work well in a multisite (project-) team environment.
• Attention to detail and precision
• Good knowledge of English 
• Communication and teamwork: strong oral, written and presentation skills in collaboration with other engineers, stakeholders and/or suppliers.
• Self-starting and approachable, enthusiastic but practical in developing new technologies
• Continuous improvement mindset
