About the Role:

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for hands-on problem-solving and a desire to make a real impact in a fast-paced production environment? Barco is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Trainee Process & Tool Improvement Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to kickstart your career in engineering by working directly on the production floor, optimizing processes, and developing innovative solutions.

 

This one-year program will provide you with invaluable experience and the chance to build a strong foundation for your future career within our company. After the trainee period of 1 year, you will ne able to transition to a new role within Barco based on your interest and acquired experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly on the production floor, collaborating with operators, technicians, maintenance and other engineers to identify areas for improvement in existing processes and tools.
  • Develop and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in production processes.
  • Improve test setups, including programming and integration with vision systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, utilizing root cause analysis techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of new processes and procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues across different departments.

 

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate with a degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Automation, or related field).
  • Strong interest in hands-on work and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Programming experience (e.g., Python, C++, or other relevant languages).
  • Familiarity with vision systems and their applications in production.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.   
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.   
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
